As a Certified Aging in Place Specialist* (CAPS), Dr. Fix-It provides Home Remodeling and Home Improvement for seniors and their families. We make basic home design modifications to greatly benefit the independent living needs of an aging population. Our affordable nursing home diversion program helps prevent elderly from falling in their own home.
From heavy-duty cleaning to installing the latest in adaptive equipment, we help seniors remain in the home they love. Changes can make it easier to carry out daily activities, such as showering, cooking or climbing stairs, and can make the home a safer place to live. |

We do everything from heavy duty cleaning to a simple installation of shower grab bars, handicapped showers, sinks, and adjustments of countertop heights, to entry ramps and first-floor master suites. These alterations can blend in with the home so that it does not have an institutional feel. *Designated as a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), Bob Bakst has been trained to provide supportive home improvement services that promote independent living for seniors. He has assisted clients who want to stay in their home and age positively with comfort, safety and dignity. Bakst can provide quality-of-life home improvement and modification solutions designed to accommodate all types of mobility and sensory impairments. He is a fully insured, Massachusetts-licensed, full-service home improvement contractor and construction supervisor whose company has over 40 years construction experience. Bakst's company, Dr Fix-It, offers a home safety review survey that addresses general home safety and security issues. In addition to addressing aging in place issues, Dr. Fix-It can also provide home modifications and accessories when a client experiences a progressive or abrupt and traumatic health-related condition.
